Rick Warren is not my favorite preacher, not least for his violation of Romans 8:7, "The carnal mind is enmity to God"...have you seen his gut? But I don't think it is productive to protest Warren's presence: can you imagine the backlash if Obama replaced him with someone else now? even if the "Left" or whoever wants that. Could be disastrous. And there's also Joe Lowery giving the benediction, as a counterbalance.
However, you can at least protest the omission of someone else from the ceremonies: where's Jesse Jackson? 'Memba him? Is Obama trying to hide him under a rug or something? His "Rainbow Coalition" may have inspired all kinds of things, including the "rainbow" theme of gay rights organizations, and...the multi-culturally savvy presidency-in-waiting of Barack Obama.
Jesse Jackson was "keeping hope alive" when Barack "Hope" Obama was in knee pants. And his son JJJr. has been doing some good work lately, too, even if Rod Blagojevich doesn't like it.
